tonight's writer and stories Maya Flynn was born in 1987 in Mississauga and has officially lived there most of her life. She has earned her nickname 'The Wandering Gypsy" by unofficially living in Petawawa, Barrie, Wasaga Beach, Hamilton, and other areas of southern and eastern Ontario for small periods of time. Maya Flynn is currently an undergraduate at the University of Toronto, majoring in Environmental Science and Geography and minoring in Earth Science. Her hobbies are dancing (badly), exploring, making friends, smiling, and taking a ride on the wild side. Maya Flynn writes stories with honesty. Through these stories Flynn sits us down, hands us a cup of coffee, and tells us about her life. Nothing is hidden in Maya's writing. She shows us her life through words written in HD. She tells us about her first cuss as a child in "The Bad Word." In "A House and a Home," Maya introduces us to a close friend, and her family. And in "Sober," Maya tells us about a relationship she is afraid is no longer organic, having become reliant on chemicals to feel connected. Maya Flynn dedicates these stories to her dear father, Joseph, who "taught her to appreciate everything that's good in life." He passed away on April 13th, 2011. |
