tonight's Show

Life Rattle Number 1266 features three stories by new writer Turbo Stevens.

Turbo Stevens was born in 1992 in Southern, Ontario. At sixteen, following a hockey tournament in Philadelphia, he was contacted about joining a hockey academy. He accepted and moved to Oka, Quebec, just before his seventeenth birthday, and graduated from CEGEP (college) two years later. Turbo Stevens who now attends university, still enjoys playing hockey, drinking and jokes.

Though tonight’s stories, set in a hockey academy in Oka, Quebec, take place in a rough and tough domain where physical strength is a priority, the theme is intensely emotional. Through sharp dialogue, and sharp details, Turbo Stevens creates fresh, bold characters who bring these stories to life.

In tonight’s first story, "Wanted," our narrator must choose whether to take responsibility for a joke that went to far, or to let his classmates take the fall and share the punishment.

A sense of loss and regret lay heavy in tonight’s final story, "The Rink," as our narrator bids farewell to the academy and to people he has deeply bonded with over the previous two years.
